The Single Men's Drinking Club debut EP features early versions of The Getaway, Prostitutes & Cigarettes, Road Prayer and The Rapture. Recorded on the fly while the band was writing material for their first album the songs have a paradoxical sense of urgency and organic harmony, pushing and pulling; a certain chemistry that can only be captured as a song is taking shape. And yet this is still most definitely the Drinking Club in full flight, at their most magnificent and obscene. These alternative versions of tracks that would go on to become stalwarts of the band's early live set are must have for any discerning fan
